Brand Philosophy
WhyNotHeels
It all begins with a pair of heels designed for dancers.
Beyond crafting and curating, we aim to transform the "beauty of heels dance" from a stage performance into an empowering life experience for everyone.
We are dedicated to blending design, amplifying aesthetics, and fostering body awareness to explore the balance between confidence and grace.
At WhyNotHeels, we believe that true beauty stems from the understanding and creation of one's own unique posture.
Brand Story
"Why the name WhyNotHeels? And what sets us apart from ordinary high heels?"
The birth of WhyNotHeels stems from a powerful and soul-searching question. Our inspiration comes from a classic response by choreographer Yanis Marshall on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014:
”I get this question a lot, which is why do I dance in heels? And the answer is always, why not!”
The Journey from Passion to Profession
This journey began in 2013, captivated by Yanis’s movements through online videos, leading to my own entry into the world of heels dance in 2016. In the early days, dancers often had no choice but to wear stiff-soled fashion shoes that couldn't withstand high-intensity movements. The agonizing pain in our feet after every class became a shared, painful memory.
A Turning Point for Safety and Quality
By late 2019, seeing dancers in top international studios equipped with professional footwear—contrasted with incidents in Taiwan where heels would suddenly snap during class—I knew something had to change. What started as a mission to help peers source custom-made shoes evolved in 2020 into the official founding of our brand. Our goal was to promote proper dance footwear and provide more accessible options, leading us to dedicate ourselves to the research, development, and craftsmanship of dance heels ever since.
Our Vision
We strive to provide everyone with heels that are comfortable, aesthetically stunning, and built to last. Our wish is to walk—and dance—alongside you, staying beautiful and empowered on your journey through the world of heels.
